About The Position

The Dispatcher is responsible for managing incoming calls from external and internal customers, accurately recording job details, and completing job tickets. This role involves coordinating with operators and riggers, ensuring all necessary information for scheduling and billing is captured, and communicating effectively with the "On-Call" person for schedule management and issue resolution. The Dispatcher must also be able to interpret crane load charts to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3-7 years of industrial dispatching/scheduling duties.
  • 3-7 years of crane operations, and proper rigging techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred.
  • Mechanical and analytical skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming calls from external and internal Customers.
  • Record the following on the Daily schedule: Crane size required for the job task, Assigned Operator and/or Rigger for the job task, Date and time requested to be on job site and estimated hours or days till completion of the task, Customer’s complete Company name that will be receiving the invoice (Division or Location), Direction to job location (including County and/or nearest town) and the description of the job task, Special rigging that maybe required (i.e. spreader bar, man basket, etc.), Contact’s name and phone number(s), Invoicing information (i.e. Charge (Purchase Order), Check, Cash, Charge Card, etc.).
  • Complete the job ticket with the following information: Date of the assigned job task, Time the Operator and/or rigger is to be at location, Crane size (this is the size of Crane that the Customer will be invoiced), Billing (enter the method that the Customer will be invoiced), Customer (complete company name that will be receiving the invoice), Contact (customer’s name that will be on site), Telephone (Customer’s contact phone number and/or pager), Weight (is the weight of the load that will be lifted), Height (is the vertical height that the load will be lifted), Reach (the total horizontal distance the load will be lifted away from the crane), Special rigging (any item that is not normally carried on the crane, such as spreader bar, man basket, slings, and/or special blocks), Job description (is the explanation of the job task that we will be performing), Job location (is the directions how to get to the actual job location), Operator (is the person assigned to perform the job task), Estimated length of job (is the best estimate that the Customer should provide us that it will take to complete the job task on his location).
  • Post job tickets in the break room for the following day’s assignments.
  • Coordinate efforts with the person “On-Call” whenever the schedule is nearly full and/or if there are any concerns such as over lapping times for job assignments, manpower, equipment concerns, etc.
  • At the end of your shift review with the person “On-Call” all the job assignments that is on the schedule along with any other job tasks that may be forthcoming.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and determine that an assigned Crane can perform the lift by utilizing the Manufacture’s load charts.
