About The Position

McDougall Energy is looking for an Afternoon Dispatcher to join their Toronto team. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and dispatching all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization. The dispatcher will provide directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements, work with the Operations Manager and/or Lead Hands to troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance, and generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required. Additionally, the role involves communicating and interfacing with customers regarding delivery requirements, changes to schedules, and any other issues regarding their delivery. The dispatcher must adhere to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures, and established industry regulations, and perform other office administration duties as required. This position is based on an afternoon shift, starting at 3:00 PM and ending at 12:00 AM.

Requirements

  • Dispatch and logistics experience
  • Geographical knowledge of Southeastern Ontario
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of TSSA, WHMIS & TDG requirements
  • Working knowledge of the fuel and propane delivery industries’ practices and processes
  • DZ license

Responsibilities
