About The Position

The Dispatcher ensures client needs and commitments are met by dispatching drivers, responding to driver calls, and ensuring compliance with Transport Canada/Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) regulations. This role involves notifying drivers of assignments, directing their activities for timely cargo pickup and delivery, maintaining shipment information, ensuring proper paperwork, and updating the database on all dispatched moves. The position also includes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of local geographic market.
• Accurate typing skills and/or data entry skills.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Responds promptly and professionally to client needs.
• Read, comprehend and complete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Good vision and depth perception required.
• Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
• Sitting for extended periods of time
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Job will require punctual attendance and regular presence on-site at the assigned work location
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 to 3 years, related experience.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 1 year of industry experience preferred.
• Professional certification may be required in some areas

Responsibilities

• Ensures Client needs and commitments are met.
• Dispatch drivers and respond to Drivers calls.
• Ensure compliance with Transport Canada/Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) regulations.
• Notify drivers of assignments and direct their activities to ensure cargo is picked up and delivered.
• Maintain information on shipments and ensures proper paperwork required.
• Update data base on all dispatched move.
• Other duties as assigned.
