About The Position

Aston Carter is hiring a Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator. This role is responsible for order taking, scheduling, dispatching, and customer relations. The position requires maintaining efficient delivery controls through proper scheduling and accurate order entry into the dispatch system. The coordinator will monitor external factors such as weather and traffic to ensure optimized routing of resources, resolve transportation conflicts, and handle customer complaints. Providing customer support to ensure maximum satisfaction and employing problem-solving techniques to resolve complex issues are key aspects of this role. The position also involves developing professional criteria for engaging other parties, maintaining positive working relationships with coworkers and outside agencies, and working safely with a sense of urgency. The role requires handling over 100 calls in a shift, working effectively in a team setting, and completing daily workloads in a timely fashion.

Requirements

  • Must have Associate’s degree or concrete dispatch experience.
  • Logistics experience of moving products from Point A to Point B
  • Excellent communication skills with professional decorum over the phone, as well as written.

  • Strong mathematical skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Problem Solving, Decision-Making, and Critical-Thinking skills.
  • Attention to detail, ability to stay organized and work independently.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company’s Safety Policies, attend department and site safety meetings, participate in safety committees and programs (Near miss reporting, STAs, Workplace Exams, Pre-Shift Inspections, etc.)
  • Responsible for order taking, scheduling, dispatching and customer relations.
  • Maintain efficient delivery controls through proper scheduling and accurate order entry into the dispatch system.
  • Monitor external factors such as weather and traffic to ensure optimized routing of resources.
  • Resolve transportation conflicts and handle unusual and difficult customer complaints.
  • Provide customer support to ensure maximum satisfaction.
  • Employ problem solving techniques to resolve complex issues.
  • Develop professional criteria of when to engage other parties.
  • Have positive attitude and strong communication skills with customers and other departments.
  • Able to successfully handle +100 calls in a shift.
