Our San Leandro branch is recruiting for a Dispatch Supervisor. This role supports the backbone of our day to day business, overseeing the logistics of delivery of materials to customers throughout the bay area. In this position, you are responsible for verifying drivers have the correct material and are delivering the material to correct locations. In addition, the Dispatch Assistant also works with sales staff and customers on delivery problems, backing up delivery drivers on routes, keeping pipe yard stocked and assisting with will-call area as needed. This position backs up Dispatch Supervisor as needed.

Attendance/Punctuality – Is consistently at work and on time, works with receiving managers to ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Five years of driving and receiving experience.
Dispatch Assistant should be detailed oriented, have good organizational skills, be a team player, and a good communicator.
Provide a positive and professional attitude to all customer, vendors, and employees.
Basic knowledge of Eclipse software and Microsoft Office
Forklift Certified
Clean DMV record in accordance with company insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

Assists Dispatch Supervisor in ensuring trucks are ready for deliveries, loaded and routed
Communicates with drivers on cell phone for correct location and any problems that may occur on route.
Works with all salesmen and customers on deliveries and problems in absence of Dispatch Supervisor.
Responsible for ensuring the Pipe and Christy yard is stocked and cleaned.
Backup Driver
Backup for Dispatch supervisor
Assist in Receiving and Will Call departments.
Assist in Wire room as needed
Keep track of all Wemco’s and A-Frames
