About The Position

The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for dispatching trucks and supervising drivers, ensuring the dispatch operations process runs efficiently and in a timely manner. This role involves supervising all drivers, overseeing the fleet's care and services, and managing the dispatching of Brenntag drivers to support all business areas including LTL, Bulk, and Transfers. The supervisor will handle all orders assigned to ship on company trucks, manage the day-to-day operations of drivers out of various facilities and bulk terminals, and coordinate shipping appointments and pickups. Additionally, the role includes coordinating with outside warehouses, processing driver paperwork, managing receipts and reimbursements, reviewing and filing DOT logs, and communicating daily needs, issues, and concerns related to customer orders with the customer service team. Collaboration with materials management for inbound shipments and daily communication regarding product management is also key. The position requires in-depth knowledge of payroll systems (Dayforce) and inventory/routing systems, and will assist with dispatch office operations, including working the dispatch window and truck scale. The Dispatch Supervisor will serve as the point of contact for the emergency line after 5 pm, process paperwork as per procedures, drive the utilization of POD and OAV, and assist with the implementation of Project 44. Fleet documentation, including PMs and annual inspections, will be managed, and efforts will be made to reduce common carrier spend by improving asset utilization and efficient order management and routing. Other duties as assigned will also be part of this role.

Requirements

  • 3 Years of Experience in distribution with a working knowledge of dispatching a fleet of drivers (required)
  • 3 Years of supervisory/management experience (required)
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and bias for action

Nice To Haves

  • 1 – 5 years Chemical industry experience (preferred)
