About The Position

The Dispatch Representative serves as the primary communication liaison between carriers and customers for assigned loads. This role is responsible for delivering a premier shipment experience by proactively managing carrier-customer communication from dispatch to delivery, ensuring parties receive timely updates, accurate ETAs, and notification of shipment changes. Dispatch Representatives enhance carrier-customer satisfaction, reduce communication gaps, and allow for streamlined operations within PTR’s Logistics department.

Requirements

1+ years of strong customer service or account experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with customers, carriers, and internal teams.

Nice To Haves

Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
Familiarity with logistics software and tools.
College Degree or Certificates.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact between carriers and customers for assigned shipments.
Monitor shipments throughout transit using telematics systems and transportation management tools.
Provide proactive shipment updates, including estimated arrival times (ETAs), delivery confirmations, and shipment changes.
Coordinate directly with carriers to obtain accurate shipment status, ETAs, and resolution for service issues.
Maintain consistent, professional, and timely communication with customers throughout the shipment lifecycle.
Document customer interactions and shipment updates within PTR systems.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve shipment visibility and the overall customer experience.
Support company KPIs related to customer satisfaction, responsiveness, shipment visibility, and communication efficiency.
