About The Position

Johnny B. Transport (JBT) is among the largest in-house asphalt transportation companies in our market with full-service capabilities and assets including asphalt tankers, asphalt distributors, railcars and portable pumping units. JBT is a subsidiary of Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc. (IAS) which is a leading asphalt supplier and marketer in the Inland Northwest and Pacific Northwest Regions. With plants in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, California, and Arizona, IAS supplies a diverse product line of asphalts, polymer-modified asphalt, and asphalt emulsions to the road maintenance and construction industry. JBT is looking for an energized and flexible self-starter to fill a full-time opening for a Dispatch/Logistics Administrative Assistant 1 at our North Salt Lake, UT facility. This is an entry-level position.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED equivalent
1 year work experience in administrative work
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
Attention to detail.
Good written, oral and reading skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Multitask oriented, organized, set priorities and meet deadlines.
Highly resourceful; has the ability to solve problems independently and create useful and unique solutions in challenging situations.

Nice To Haves

Safety experience and training a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist with communication with shop on trailer repairs.
Help with daily paperwork.
Basic knowledge of truck regulations.
Dry out process.
Data entry.
BOL review.
Understand plant code and ID system.
Assist with truck dispatching and logistics.
Scale trucks.
Actively participate in driver safety and training.
Maintain driver information in LME and on the system.
Ensure LME and Samsara are always current with the correct truck, driver, and trailers.
Assist with various projects in coordination with the manager.
