About The Position
The Dishwashing Associate maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, and other kitchen items using machine and manual cleaning methods. The role also keeps designated work areas clean, safe, and sanitary. The position operates in a kitchen environment and routinely uses sinks, dishwashers, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. Employees are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. Requirements
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and assignments.
- Must be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family members.
- Must have or be willing to receive a hepatitis A vaccine if working inside St. Louis County.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Set up or break down the dishwashing area.
- Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glasses, tableware, and cooking utensils.
- Place rinsed items in racks for the dishwashing machine.
- Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand.
- Sort and stack clean dishes.
- Allow dishes and other items to dry according to established department practices and procedures.
- Carry clean dishes to the cook’s line and other proper storage areas; rewash soiled dishes before delivery.
- Change dishwater in the dishwashing machine and/or sinks as instructed.
- Notify the manager if the dish machine’s wash or rinse cycle falls below safety-standard temperatures.
- Clean the dish machine as instructed.
- Remove trash and garbage to the dumpster.
- Clean and roll or unroll mats.
- Fill and empty soak tubs with cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Sweep and mop floors; sweep up trash as instructed.
- Conduct general cleaning as directed and perform assigned deep cleaning.
- Wipe up spills to ensure safety.
