About The Position
The Dishwasher performs assigned duties with a positive attitude in support of San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance’s mission and vision. Under supervision, this position operates the dishwashing machine and cleans pots, pans, kitchen utensils, and appliances. Positions in this class are assigned to a restaurant and perform a variety of semi-routine tasks. The role reports to the Chef. This is a part-time position on the evening crew, with availability required between 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Obtain a Food Handler’s Card within 30 days.
- Ability to operate a dishwashing machine.
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of cleaning and unloading a dishwashing machine is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Operate and clean the dishwashing machine.
- Wash pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen appliances.
- Remove dishes from bus tubs.
- Maintain the work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Assist other kitchen personnel as necessary.
- Stock and rotate inventory.
- Ensure the functionality of appropriate dishwashing equipment.
