About The Position

The Dishwasher performs assignments under supervision while supporting San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance’s conservation mission. Assigned to a restaurant, this role carries out semi-routine kitchen tasks, including operating and cleaning dishwashing equipment and washing pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen appliances. The position reports to the Chef and is part-time, hourly, non-exempt, and union-represented. The evening crew schedule requires availability between 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The role is located in Escondido, California, at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Requirements

• Obtain a Food Handler's Card within 30 days.
• Ability to operate the dishwashing machine.
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of cleaning and unloading dishwashing machines is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate and clean the dishwashing machine.
• Wash pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen appliances.
• Remove dishes from bus tubs.
• Maintain the work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
• Assist other kitchen personnel as necessary.
• Stock and rotate inventory.
• Ensure appropriate dishwashing equipment is functional.
