DISHWASHER (FULL and PART TIME)
About The Position
The Dishwasher maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition at the University of Arkansas. The position is available on full-time and part-time schedules; open availability is preferred, and hours and days may vary. Previous food service and/or dishwashing experience is preferred. The role includes washing dishes and cookware by hand or machine, polishing silver using the equipment and procedures provided, maintaining safety and sanitation standards, cleaning kitchen surfaces and floors, removing trash, and helping move and load supplies. Other duties may be assigned. Work may be affected by educational-facility breaks, when work may be reduced or temporarily unavailable; depending on business needs, associates may be required to work year-round, potentially at another location during breaks.
Requirements
- Previous food service and/or dishwashing experience is preferred.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
- Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes, then wash them by hand or place them in racks or on a conveyor to a dishwashing machine, ensuring they are clean and sanitary.
- Wash pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures and ensure cleanliness and sanitation.
- Polish silver using the assigned equipment and procedures, such as a burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, or hand cloth.
- Follow outlined safety procedures.
- Maintain temperatures and chemical levels according to provided standards.
- Keep the dish area orderly and compliant with safety standards.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors to meet safety and sanitation standards.
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food-preparation surfaces.
- Remove trash and place it in designated containers; steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Help load and unload supplies and products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
