About The Position

The Dishwasher is responsible for washing and properly storing cooking utensils, china, equipment, flatware, and glassware while following local health department standards and Suburban Inns’ and Big E’s standards. The role also involves supporting guest satisfaction and following Suburban Inns’ Core Values and processes. This position may be used as an internship.

The position is based at Big E's Sports Grill Midland and is listed as a second-shift role. Work schedules vary according to business demands and may include day, evening, night, holiday, and weekend assignments. Work is completed at the property; travel to other locations is not required.

The uniform shirt, hat, and name tag are provided. Team Members provide their own pants and shoes that meet company specifications. Pants must be chef pants, black slacks/dockers, or dark-wash jeans without holes; shoes must be black, closed-toe, and non-slip. Hair must be well-groomed. Facial piercings and visible tattoos require management approval, and tattoos deemed offensive under the stated policy must remain covered or concealed.

Responsibilities may change in accordance with Suburban Inns’ business needs, and the incumbent may be asked to perform additional or different duties.

Requirements

• Ability to interpret or extract information and/or perform arithmetic functions.
• Good communication skills.
• Regular and recurrent attendance.
• Meet uniform requirements: provide pants and black, closed-toe, non-slip shoes; acceptable pants are chef pants, black slacks/dockers, or dark-wash jeans without holes.
• Keep hair well-groomed; obtain management approval for facial piercings and tattoos not covered by the uniform, and conceal tattoos prohibited by the appearance policy.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly, positive manner, ask questions, and make personal connections so guests feel welcome and valued.
• Wash wares in the dishwashing machine or by hand according to sanitation standards.
• Collect and dispose of trash from kitchen areas, empty and reline garbage cans, break down boxes and crates, remove debris, and check garbage for reusable items.
• Wash and polish kitchen stainless steel, including shelves, dish cabinets, ice machines, refrigerators, and walk-ins.
• Store dishes and other wares in their proper areas.
• Clean the dish machine and dish area after each meal period.
• Notify a supervisor when supplies of soap, chemicals, or paper towels are low.
• Inspect kitchen floors regularly to ensure they are clean, clear of debris, and dry.
• Assist with the weekly kitchen cleaning and maintenance list.
• Clean and safely store brooms, mops, and other cleaning equipment in their proper places.
• Follow all Suburban Inns processes.
• Maintain regular and recurrent attendance.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
