About The Position
The Dishwasher (Kitchen Utility) assists with kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness through operating dishwashing equipment and sinks, removing trash and recycling, and cleaning work areas. The role represents the hotel to guests and performs daily duties and assigned projects in accordance with Hulsing Hotels’ principles, policies, and standards. The position requires setting up and shutting down the dish station according to hotel guidelines; cleaning dishes and kitchen items using the appropriate method; ensuring dishes are clean, sanitized, and free of debris before storing them; and organizing dishes in their proper storage spaces. The associate also removes trash and recycling, sweeps and mops assigned areas, uses kitchen equipment safely, completes cleaning functions assigned by a supervisor, and reports potential safety hazards and customer complaints. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of previous experience in a kitchen environment.
- Team-oriented, empathetic, and friendly, with initiative.
- Ability to represent the hotel professionally to guests.
Responsibilities
- Set up and shut down the dish station according to hotel guidelines.
- Remove trash and recycling, and sweep and mop assigned areas.
- Clean aluminum sheet pans and related items in three-compartment sinks, and clean glasses, plates, and flatware in the dish machine.
- Ensure dishes are clean, sanitized, and free of debris before storing them.
- Store dishes in the proper spaces, grouping like sizes and types together.
- Maintain working knowledge of kitchen equipment and use it properly and safely.
- Complete cleaning functions assigned by a supervisor during the shift.
- Notify a supervisor of potential safety hazards and customer complaints.
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, protect confidential information, and safeguard company assets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
