About The Position

The Dishwasher is responsible for washing and restocking dishes, utensils, and pots and pans, and keeping the dishwashing and other assigned areas clean. The role supports kitchen, prep, and service areas, and may assist with food preparation and other tasks as assigned. The Dishwasher is expected to be flexible and willing to take on additional responsibilities. This position is at King’s Hawaiian Restaurant in Torrance.

Requirements

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
Ability to lift 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods.
Ability to arrive on time for assigned shifts, including early mornings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
Some weekend availability is required, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Responsibilities

Wash dishes, utensils, and pots and pans.
Restock clean dishes, utensils, and pots and pans in kitchen, prep, and service areas.
Load and unload the dishwasher according to correct procedures.
Stock newly arrived products in kitchen storage, walk-in, and freezer, using first in, first out.
Set up, break down, clean, and maintain the dishwasher correctly.
Prepare and maintain a sanitation bucket for each station.
Follow GMPs and keep the dishwashing area clean and orderly by mopping, wiping equipment, and completing other assigned sanitation duties.
Maintain storage areas to ensure proper labeling and cleanliness.
Assist with prep and other areas as needed and assigned.
Inform management of needed equipment, drain, tool, or mat repairs and maintenance, and necessary building improvements.
Follow sanitation guidelines prescribed by the health department.
Cooperate on matters relating to safety and health in the work area.
Understand and comply with general and specific safe job procedures, including safe knife use.
Wear slip-resistant shoes and use proper lifting techniques.
Report unsafe conditions or equipment immediately.
