About The Position

The Dishwasher Steward will join the Tides Coastal Kitchen Restaurant team at the Delta Hotel by Marriott Virginia Beach Waterfront. The role maintains sanitation and cleanliness in the dishroom, kitchen aisle, dock, and related work areas, and handles dishwashing and storage tasks using proper procedures. The position also includes maintaining professional guest and associate interactions, following hotel standards for work habits and appearance, adapting to changes, and helping coworkers as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Ability to communicate well with guests.
• Willingness to pitch in, help coworkers with their duties, and work as a team player.
• Finger and hand dexterity to operate food machinery.
• Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move goods weighing up to 100 pounds on a continuous schedule.
• Ability to solve routine problems and ask for help when unsure how to perform a task.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of the dishroom, kitchen aisle, and dock area.
• Break down trays, set up the dish machine, wash dishware, and sort and store clean china, glassware, and silverware using proper procedures.
• Empty trash cans and wash them inside and outside.
• Thoroughly clean the dock area and dumpster.
• Break down the dish machine and clean it inside and outside.
• Clean all breakdown tables.
• Clean tile walls and baseboards.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Treat guests and associates with courtesy and respect and maintain professional conduct.
• Meet hotel standards for work procedures, dress, grooming, punctuality, and attendance; adapt to changes and learn or improve skills as needed.
