About The Position

As a Dishwasher/Prep Cook at Wiseguy Pizza, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our kitchen. As a dedicated member of the back-of-house team, you'll ensure that dishes, utensils, and equipment are clean and ready for service, contributing to the seamless operation of our Southern culinary experience. Requirements

  • Dishwashing experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
  • Able to read documents and written instructions to understand sanitation requirements, safety rules, equipment operation and maintenance, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Able to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends, and all holidays.
  • Stand for long hours, often in wet conditions.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs (racks of dishes, garbage bags).
  • Work in a hot, humid, and fast-paced environment.
  • Bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment safely.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in food safety and sanitation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand.
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
  • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
  • Sweep or scrub floors.
  • Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
  • Clean or prepare various foods for cooking or serving.
  • Clean garbage cans with water or steam.
  • Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
  • Load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food or supplies.
  • Prepare ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meat, and measuring spices, according to recipes.
  • Organize and stock food items for efficient use during service, ensuring proper portioning and freshness.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to uphold quality standards and contribute to menu development.
  • Assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness, including washing and sanitizing utensils and equipment.
  • Adhere to proper food safety and sanitation guidelines in all food preparation processes.
