DISHWASHER / JANITORIAL TEAM MEMBER
About The Position
The Missing Grain is seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher / Janitorial Team Member to help maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized bakery and café. Maintaining clean dishes, equipment, floors, work areas, and facilities is essential to food safety and the customer experience. This role supports the bakery, kitchen, and front-of-house teams with dishwashing, routine cleaning, and deep-cleaning tasks. Employees must follow food-safety and gluten-free facility procedures. The Missing Grain is a 100% gluten-free facility: employees may not bring gluten-containing food, snacks, meals, beverages, or ingredients into the bakery or café, including food for breaks. Personal food brought into the facility must be gluten-free, and employees must follow company gluten-free, cross-contact prevention, sanitation, allergen-awareness, and food-safety procedures.
Requirements
- Dependable and punctual.
- Strong attention to cleanliness.
- Able to work independently and stay productive.
- Comfortable performing physical cleaning duties.
- Able to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the shift.
- Able to safely lift approximately 40 pounds.
- Weekend availability is required.
- Must not bring gluten-containing food, snacks, meals, beverages, or ingredients into the bakery or café; personal food brought into the facility must be gluten-free.
- Must follow company gluten-free, cross-contact prevention, sanitation, allergen-awareness, and food-safety procedures.
Nice To Haves
- Previous restaurant, janitorial, or dishwashing experience is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, pans, and bakery equipment.
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely.
- Keep dishwashing and utility areas clean and organized.
- Sweep and mop kitchen, bakery, and café floors.
- Clean sinks, drains, walls, doors, and other assigned areas.
- Clean and maintain customer and employee restrooms.
- Empty trash and recycling.
- Clean tables and dining areas as needed.
- Assist with routine janitorial and deep-cleaning tasks.
- Restock cleaning and sanitation supplies.
- Follow proper chemical-use and sanitation procedures.
- Assist bakery, kitchen, and front-of-house teams with cleaning as needed.
- Follow all food-safety and gluten-free facility procedures.
