About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Discipline Engineer specializing in Electrical systems to lead our electrical engineering team. This role involves overseeing the design of various electrical systems, managing and developing a team of engineers, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and contributing to business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design, project management, and a deep understanding of relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 10+ years’ design related experience with a consulting engineering firm designing - building power, lighting, communication and security systems.
  • A thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry, including the Federal, State, and local laws and regulations that pertain to the industry.
  • Must be a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience using Outlook and Microsoft Office (or similar software).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing a team of professionals desired.
  • LEED Accreditation
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with HVAC and plumbing systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of design in the design of electrical systems such as power distribution, stand-by power generation, lighting, communication, fire alarm and security systems.
  • Grow, develop and supervise a group of Electrical Engineers in project design and development tasks, including drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and specifications.
  • Respond to client questions and comments, review contractor submittals, and provide clarifications during construction.
  • Oversee/Review electrical department design documents for completion and department staff adhere to accepted industry and company standards.
  • Assist in the development of company quality standards and procedures with the QA/QC team.
  • Develop and implement electrical short- and long-range manpower and production plans to meet project objectives with the MEP management team.
  • Assist in cultivation of business development initiatives to pursue new projects including participation in client presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
