About The Position

Levi Strauss & Co. is seeking a visionary User Experience Design leader to shape technology experiences across global retail, e-commerce, and internal platforms. The role sets UX strategy, champions end-user needs, partners with product, engineering, merchandising, marketing, and brand creative teams, and leads a 12-person team consisting of two group managers and 10 designers. The Director drives design excellence, influences product roadmaps, aligns senior leaders around innovative ideas, collaborates across regions and functions, and integrates AI into the design process. The position is remote and may be based anywhere in the United States. It reports to the VP, Product Management & User Experience. The Director provides a vision for transforming user experience across Levi's products and services; promotes design thinking and UX best practices; and maintains design quality standards through critique, reviews, and the design system. The role connects design work to business outcomes, including consumer conversion and retention and internal-tool adoption and productivity, and uses those measures to set priorities. It leads AI-powered experiences for consumers and associates, with attention to helping people understand and trust AI, and directs rapid ideation and iteration using storyboards, user flows, mock-ups, prototypes, and other methods. The role develops new experiences and paradigms, creates patterns, training, and resources, and uses varied inputs to identify customer problems and define solutions. It influences design thinking with VP-level and more senior executives, sets a cohesive UX vision for tools used by teams and partners across stores, associate workflows, planning, merchandising, and wholesale, and guides teams on when to explore broadly or focus deeply, including defining MVP scope. It recruits, develops, and retains a multidisciplinary and diverse UX team while investing in team culture, health, and inclusivity.
