About The Position

BMO Capital Markets is hiring a Director for its Corporate Hedging Solutions team within Global Markets’ Global Fixed Income group. The team originates and executes hedging and financing transactions for BMO’s corporate and commercial clients, covering interest rate, foreign exchange and equity derivatives, as well as structured solutions.

The Director will lead coverage, marketing, origination and execution of foreign exchange hedging solutions for U.S. corporate clients. The role is based in New York, New York, and involves leading client engagement and revenue generation by delivering customized FX solutions. The Director will cover key corporate relationships, pitch and execute FX products, and discuss both the corporate finance rationale for hedging strategies and the technical details of products with corporate treasurers and senior executives. The role works closely with Investment & Corporate Banking, trading, structuring, credit and risk management, research, legal and back-office teams to deliver client solutions and use bank resources effectively.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in foreign exchange sales, with a strong understanding of FX markets and products.
• Experience working directly with corporate clients, including corporate treasurers and senior executives.
• Strong knowledge and experience applying FX markets, products and concepts to corporate hedging strategies.
• Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or a related field.
• Experience with WSS, Murex or equivalent front-office booking systems, and familiarity with electronic FX dealing platforms.
• Working knowledge of Bloomberg and Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Strong sales skills and relevant experience.
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills in a demanding team environment.
• Ability to be creative, insightful and resourceful.
• Ability to review, assess and provide detailed information on multiple projects in an organized manner.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
• Experience selling, pricing and modelling FX options, exotics and structured FX solutions.
• Self-motivation to stay current on product knowledge and market news.

• Understanding of hedge accounting concepts and their applicability to client solutions.
• Familiarity with XVA, RWA and bank resource management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead pitching activities with corporate treasurers and senior executives.
• Market BMO’s foreign exchange products and solutions, and develop FX trade ideas based on economic, political and market trends.
• Develop creative solutions for client FX risk management requirements and assist with negotiating derivative legal documentation.
• Partner with Investment & Corporate Banking on client relationships and business development.
• Expand client coverage where there are gaps, strengthen existing relationships, maintain frequent client touchpoints and provide high-touch service.
• Price and execute FX products, including spot, forwards, swaps, options, exotics and structured FX solutions.
• Collaborate with FX traders and structurers to understand and manage transaction risks, and manage client trading activity in light of resource constraints.
• Understand structured FX requests, model transaction risks and restructuring opportunities, structure trades using trader and structurer inputs, and model scenarios for FX hedging strategies.
• Build internal relationships with Investment & Corporate Banking and trading teams to deliver client solutions while adhering to product and risk limits.
• Coordinate with back-office and legal partners to improve processes and the client experience.
• Support the development of junior team members.
