Director - Surgical Services
About The Position
The Director of Surgical Services assumes administrative responsibility for all areas and functions of the Perioperative Services Division on a 24/7 basis. Areas include pre-procedure testing, Pre-Op, Main OR, Ambulatory and Minor Surgery, PACU, GI Lab, Sterile Processing, and Central Service. The Director develops policies and procedures and quality improvement programs for these areas, and develops the division’s capital and operating budgets. The Director ensures appropriate staffing and oversees employee-related responsibilities, including interviewing and selecting new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, addressing employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or another related field.
- At least 5 years of work experience, including 3 years of progressive management/leadership experience.
- If a Registered Nurse, current Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC multistate license.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Certification in area of clinical specialty.
