About The Position

The Director of Surgical Services assumes administrative responsibility for all areas and functions of the Perioperative Services Division on a 24/7 basis. Areas include pre-procedure testing, Pre-Op, Main OR, Ambulatory and Minor Surgery, PACU, GI Lab, Sterile Processing, and Central Service. The director develops policies and procedures and quality improvement programs for areas of responsibility, and develops the division’s capital and operating budgets. The role ensures appropriate staffing and oversees hiring and selection, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or another related field.
• Five years of experience, including three years of progressive management or leadership experience.
• If a Registered Nurse, current Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC multistate license.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
• Certification in area of clinical specialty.

Responsibilities

• Ensure areas of responsibility are appropriately staffed.
• Interview and select new employees; oversee promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, and compensation changes.
• Resolve employee concerns and oversee corrective actions and terminations.
• Support overall employee morale.
