About The Position

The Director, Strategic Planning and Performance will report to the SVP, Provider Partnerships & Network Management leader. In this role you will be responsible for the overall development and supervision of the long-range strategy and planning functions. You will define and plan for the achievement of goals and objectives. Assist management with growth and profitability objectives and develop strategic plans for their achievement. Requirements

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Requires at least 10 years prior relevant experience, including 6 years of management experience
• Requires broad management knowledge to lead project teams in one department/function or large centralized function
• Requires business acumen, strategic thinking, financial analytical skills and decision-making skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Blue Shield of California’s mission, vision and strategy and healthcare industry environment

Responsibilities

• Oversee budget planning as part of the annual budget cycle.
• Provides budget support and coordination with Finance.
• Perform business planning, support human resource planning and budgeting for Line of Business (LOB).
• Monitor and represent goals from initiation through delivery and track progress against goals including metrics and performance tracking.
• Oversee delivery of business plans, by designing and operating robust performance management and reporting processes and intervening personally.
• Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships.
• Manage development of agendas, presentations, and speaking points for presentation and meetings.
• Facilitates the strategy, design, development and alignment of the organizational business plan inclusive of goals and objectives to achieve it.
• Planning and implementation of LOB/Functional areas key initiatives to drive strategy, regardless of size or complexity
