About The Position

Provides strategic direction and oversees the design, alignment, and completeness of specially designed curriculum for SPED Alt programs. Ensures curriculum materials, professional learning, and implementation supports meet the needs of students in self-contained settings and align with the NES (New Education System) model, Special education best practices, and district goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3 to 5 years experience in curriculum design, special education, or instructional leadership

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages the development of specially designed SPED Alt curriculum, ensuring alignment to NES model, IEP goals, and alternate standards (includes lessons, activities, assessments, and differentiated supports)
• Evaluates curriculum for accessibility, appropriateness, and cultural responsiveness for students with diverse cognitive needs
• Prepares and facilitates Brain Trust/PLC sessions to refine SPED Alt curriculum, ensuring clarity, alignment, and instructional effectiveness
• Manages performance and development of curriculum staff; provides coaching, feedback, and improvement plans to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Develops and maintains scope and sequence aligned to research-based practices in special education and ensures coherent progression of learning objectives
