About The Position

Walmart is seeking a Director of Associate Listening & Relations to lead the strategy, platforms, and insights that power our enterprise associate listening ecosystem. This leader will drive initiatives that enable Walmart to continuously capture associate feedback, identify friction points, and translate insights into meaningful actions that improve the associate experience. This role will partner closely with leaders across Global People, Product, Technology, and Business teams to evolve listening capabilities across surveys, digital feedback channels, and associate relations signals. The Director will ensure these insights are integrated, actionable, and connected to operational improvements and leadership decision-making.

Requirements

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 8 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 3 years' supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the strategy for Walmart’s enterprise associate listening platform.
  • Lead cross-functional teams delivering scalable products, analytics, and workflows that enable proactive issue identification and resolution.
  • Translate associate insights into business actions and measurable outcomes.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and align priorities across multiple organizations.
  • Build and lead high-performing teams while fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Builds and grows high-performing teams through mentorship, coaching, and active engagement.
  • Sets clear expectations, fosters psychological safety, and prioritizes team wellbeing in alignment with Walmart’s values.
  • Enables professional development and succession planning across teams, ensuring long-term talent sustainability.
  • Manages engineering dependencies and project execution across multiple products and services.
  • Ensures roadmap and milestone alignment with broader organizational priorities through effective stakeholder management and coordination.
  • Leverages generative AI tools (for example, ChatGPT) for program planning, risk mitigation, and reporting optimization.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for deliverables, ensuring solutions meet quality standards and business objectives.
  • Takes initiative to resolve issues and drive projects to completion.
  • Applies sound reasoning to make informed technical decisions, balancing trade-offs and considering long-term impacts on system architecture and business goals.

  • The annual salary range for this position is $156,000.00 - $312,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
