About The Position

As part of GE Aerospace Digital Technology supporting the Defense & Systems (D&S) business, the Director, Program Management owns delivery across the Defense and Systems Customer Experience (DSCX) portfolio. This people-leadership role is accountable for on-time delivery, program operating rhythms, dependency and risk management, and scope, schedule, and cost tradeoffs. The Director leads a team of program and project managers, establishes delivery standards, and owns the $25+MM CX budget in partnership with Finance and Business Operations. The role is the single point of accountability for predictable execution and early escalation when a dependency or decision threatens delivery. DSCX owns more than 30 digital products. The organization is separating product management, project management, and operations responsibilities previously carried by technical product managers. This role will build the program management discipline, starting with on-time delivery, and establish standard operating rhythms and artifacts while coaching and training the team. The planned team includes 4–6 direct reports. The role also calls for experience with AI and the ability to identify opportunities it creates to expand the team's delivery capacity. The portfolio runs primarily on AWS, Palantir Foundry, or third-party SaaS solutions, with on-premise implementations for customers whose data sensitivity requires them. Delivery uses Rally and Microsoft Teams; ServiceNow is the system of record for incidents, change, and defect management. The portfolio has an annual budget of more than $25MM. The position is based remotely, with Cincinnati, Ohio (Evendale) strongly preferred. The Director will lead a partly hybrid and partly fully remote team and travel up to 20% for program reviews, implementation site support, and vendor engagement. The role offers a base pay range of $152,000–$230,000 annually and eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. The posting is expected to close November 3, 2026.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Own and improve on-time delivery across the DSCX portfolio by setting targets, running a cadence that surfaces schedule risks, and closing delivery gaps.
  • Run weekly and monthly operating reviews, standups, reviews, and retrospectives so problems and schedule slippage surface early.
  • Run Daily Visual Management across the portfolio so delivery status and blockers are visible and can be escalated early.
  • Standardize program status reporting, including RAG status, milestones, and paths to green.
  • Manage dependencies across DSCX and partner teams, including Palantir, and resolve conflicts before they affect schedules.
  • Drive risks to closure with a named owner and due date through the RAID log, and track closure against commitments.
  • Escalate threatened committed dates early, with a recommendation and clearly framed tradeoffs for sponsors.
  • Own or frame scope, schedule, and cost decisions for each program.
  • Own the $25+MM CX budget with Finance and Business Operations; reconcile it monthly and maintain accurate committed-versus-actual reporting.
  • Control changes by ensuring approved scope, schedule, and budget changes are documented and traceable.
  • Lead, coach, and develop program and project managers, including hiring, performance management, and talent development.
