About The Position

Join Sun Life as a Director of Practice Management and make a direct impact on advisor success across Quebec and Eastern Canada. In this dynamic role, you'll deliver transformative, thought leadership programs that empower financial advisors to grow their practices, build lasting client relationships, and achieve their business goals. Reporting to the AVP, Distribution Growth & Advisor Enablement, you'll collaborate closely with senior leadership, regional teams, and sales directors across our Insurance, Wealth, and Sun Life Financial Distribution channels to create meaningful value for advisors at every stage of their journey.

Requirements

  • Bilingual communicator – Fluent in both English and French (speaking, presenting, reading, and writing).
  • Industry expert – 10+ years of experience in financial services with deep knowledge of the advisory marketplace.
  • Strategic thinker – You understand how thought leadership and relationships drive sales success.
  • Exceptional presenter – Proven ability to deliver compelling presentations, facilitate workshops, and engage diverse audiences.
  • Consultant at heart – You diagnose advisor challenges and deliver practical, impactful solutions.
  • Self-directed – You manage your time independently, maximize field productivity, and thrive in a matrix organizational model.
  • Relationship builder – You naturally connect with sales teams and advisors, earning trust and driving collaboration.
  • Extensive experience in financial services, ideally with knowledge of both insurance and wealth products.
  • Demonstrated presentation, facilitation, and adult education skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and consulting abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in matrix and shared services environments.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 25-50% of travel throughout Eastern Canada.
  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver High-Impact Presentations & Advisory Consultations: Proactively partner with Sales teams to schedule and deliver presentations, workshops, and one-on-one consultations tailored to advisor needs.
  • Facilitate engaging sessions for third-party and Sun Life Financial Distribution advisors across all industry channels (IIROC, MGA, MFDA).
  • Train and onboard regional sales teams on new and existing programs.
  • Conduct strategic 1:1 consultations addressing business management, client management, marketing, branding, succession planning, and technology.
  • Develop Compelling Thought Leadership Content: Identify and champion opportunities to create innovative, value-added programs.
  • Conduct research on industry best practices and competitive landscape to inform program development.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to create engaging presentations and supporting materials.
  • Maintain and continuously improve our comprehensive program shelf.
  • Build Strategic Relationships: Foster trusted partnerships with Regional Managers, National Account teams, Sales leaders, and key partners.
  • Support communication and activation plans to ensure sales teams can effectively leverage our programs.
  • Actively contribute to the R&D team's strategic initiatives.
  • Manage Projects & Drive Results: Track and report program metrics and key results monthly.
  • Communicate upcoming events and commitments with internal teams.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and strategic planning.
