About The Position

Smile Doctors is seeking a high-energy, people-first Practice Director to lead one of their growing orthodontic practices. This role is ideal for an individual who excels in fast-paced settings, enjoys building strong teams, naturally fosters positive energy, and can drive operational excellence while maintaining a focus on the human aspect of leadership. The Practice Director will collaborate with the Doctor and leadership team to manage daily operations, enhance the patient experience, expand the business, and cultivate a welcoming environment for both patients and staff. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who inspires through action, values accountability, and prioritizes culture alongside results.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of leadership or operations management experience required
  • Orthodontic or dental experience strongly preferred
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • High school diploma required
  • Strong coaching, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet operational and performance goals
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a positive, upbeat, high-performing office culture where people feel valued, supported, and motivated
  • Partner with the Doctor to ensure excellence in patient care, team development, and clinic operations
  • Lead with positivity, professionalism, accountability, and emotional intelligence
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members while building strong relationships and trust
  • Drive operational excellence by monitoring key performance metrics, profitability, scheduling efficiency, and patient experience
  • Understand and manage Profit & Loss (P&L) performance to help achieve monthly and annual goals
  • Support growth initiatives through local marketing efforts and relationship-building within the dental community
  • Help implement and reinforce new tools, systems, and operational processes
  • Handle patient concerns with empathy, urgency, and professionalism
  • Jump into clinic roles when needed and lead by example during busy moments
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and State Dental Board regulations
