The job overview for this position at 4D Molecular Therapeutics, Inc. is to support the company's portfolio planning prioritization and product development by conducting strategic analyses. The Director will be responsible for assessing new indication portfolio opportunities, analyzing target markets, determining treatment paradigms and competitive landscape, and providing commercial inputs for pipeline programs. This role will collaborate with various teams across the company and report to the Vice President of Portfolio & Product Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Serves as project team leader for cross-functional assessment of new indication portfolio opportunities
- Owns commercial inputs for cross-functional assessment for select new indication portfolio opportunities, including forecasting
- Analyze target markets to determine current and future treatment paradigms, competitive landscape, unmet need, product positioning, and value proposition
- Own preliminary forecast to quantify market and product opportunities, including sensitivity analyses to validate key value-driven assumptions
- Serves as a commercial lead for select pipeline programs
- Provides ongoing analysis
Requirements
- Experience in strategic analysis and portfolio planning in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
- Knowledge of the competitive landscape and advancements in genetic medicines
- Ability to analyze target markets and determine treatment paradigms, competitive landscape, unmet need, product positioning, and value proposition
- Strong forecasting skills, including the ability to quantify market and product opportunities and validate key assumptions
- Experience as a project team leader and ability to lead cross-functional assessments
- Familiarity with clinical, clinical operations, translational medicine, project management, discovery, engineering, and finance teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Benefits
- Hybrid work environment with onsite work 2-3 days/week on average
- Base salary compensation range: Minimum: $214,000, Maximum: $255,000
