About The Position

Firelands Health is seeking a Director, Pharmacy Services to lead and manage the provision of pharmacy services. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating pharmacy operations to ensure excellent patient care and compliance with all relevant regulations. The Director will oversee budgeting, human resources, drug distribution, purchasing, and drug information dissemination, all while supporting the mission and values of Firelands Health. The position is located in Sandusky, Ohio, a desirable coastal town.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school.
Licensed by the State of Ohio.
At least 3 years of managerial experience in a progressive medical center pharmacy environment.
Ability to read and write small letters and numbers and perform complex arithmetic and financial applications.
Ability to understand and effectively communicate in both written and oral form.
Punctual attendance at assigned work location.
Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident-free work place.
Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of emergency codes.
Ability to comply with OSHA regulations and CDC standard and transmission-based precaution recommendations.
Ability to utilize proper personal protective equipment.
Ability to comply with provisions of applicable S.D.S. forms.
Ability to achieve all departmental goals and competencies while actively contributing to the department’s ongoing strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates the provision of pharmacy services to Firelands Health patients, employees, and medical staff.
Ensures compliance with the Food and Drug Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, and the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).
Monitors and controls revenue and expense budgets.
Allocates and manages the human resources of the department.
Responsible for the implementation of Firelands Health policies and development of departmental policies and procedures.
Provides for a safe and effective drug distribution system.
Manages a cost-effective pharmaceutical purchasing program.
Provides comprehensive dissemination of drug information to patients and staff.
Supports the mission and philosophy of Firelands Health.
