About The Position

This position leads the Proposals function within the Pharma and Diagnostic Solutions business. The proposals team partners with business development and operations staff to develop proposals for potential new work for the business. The Director manages proposal processes and a team of senior and junior team members, collaborating with Pharma leadership, cross-functional Quest partners, customers, Client, BD, and operations teams to develop solutions and proposals that address customer challenges and support business growth. The role may also lead client governance interactions for select clients.

Requirements

• 12 or more years of experience in the laboratory, biopharma, and/or diagnostic industry in a client-facing operational role and/or a sales role.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Highly skilled user of Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications.
• Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Quantitative aptitude.
• Strong or expert communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• 7 or more years of experience in a similar role in a contract research organization.
• Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve proposal development processes to support prompt submission of high-quality, winning proposals.
• Lead and manage senior and junior team members, fostering a team atmosphere that drives consistent revenue growth.
• Collaborate with Pharma leadership, cross-functional Quest partners, and customers to develop innovative approaches to customer challenges.
• Partner with Client, business development, and operations teams to create proposals for new projects.
• Create processes and practices to optimize and grow the business.
• Lead solution development for potential work, including scheduling meetings with internal stakeholders and obtaining their approvals or disapprovals.
• May lead client governance interactions for select clients.
