The Director, Patient and Community Engagement will provide strategic leadership and system-wide oversight for volunteer services, patient and family engagement, and community programs across Temple University Health System (TUHS). This role will champion the patient and family perspective in care delivery by leading the development, standardization, and integration of Patient and Family Advisory Councils (PFACs) and volunteer services throughout TUHS. The Director will collaborate with executive leadership, clinical teams, and community partners to enhance the patient and family experience, build community relationships, and ensure alignment with TUHS strategic priorities, regulatory requirements, and service excellence standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Healthcare-related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role in Patient Experience, Volunteer services, and Patient and Family Engagement.
  • General experience with HCAHPS, CG-CAHPS, OAS-CAHPS, outpatient and patient satisfaction surveys.
  • General experience leading Patient and Family Advisory Councils.
  • Possess a Certified Patient Experience Professional (CPXP) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
  • General experience in a multi-hospital health system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and system-wide oversight of volunteer services, patient and family engagement, and community-facing programs across Temple University Health System (TUHS).
  • Advance the voice of the patient and family as a core driver of care delivery.
  • Lead the development, standardization, and integration of Patient and Family Advisory Councils (PFACs) and volunteer services across all TUHS entities.

  • Strengthen community relationships.
