About The Position

Brex is seeking a Director of Organic Growth & Discoverability to own everything between paid acquisition and brand that drives a buyer from first discovery to qualified lead. This role involves setting strategy, building a team, managing agency relationships, and achieving specific growth targets. The position is based in the Seattle office, operating in a hybrid environment with a minimum of two coordinated days in the office per week, increasing to three days per week starting February 2, 2026. The role also offers up to four weeks per year of fully remote work. Marketing at Brex is responsible for telling the company's story to the world, spanning Revenue, Product, and Brand Marketing. The team focuses on translating product value into business results, working closely with other functions at Brex. They operate with speed, embrace experimentation, and deeply consider customer behavior, aiming for creativity to drive growth and shape perception.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in SEO, organic growth, or digital marketing.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading a team and owning strategy and budget at a B2B SaaS, fintech, or technology company.
  • Pipeline orientation: Ability to connect organic channels to pipeline, revenue, and business outcomes, with a focus on SQLs, activation rates, and CAC efficiency.
  • Technical SEO depth: Proficiency in reading crawl logs, diagnosing Core Web Vitals issues, directing schema implementations, and collaborating with engineers on site architecture.
  • AI visibility fluency: Demonstrated experience with citation strategies, structuring content for AI model consumption, or measuring share of voice in AI answer engines.
  • Content instincts: Ability to discern high-quality, trust-earning content from filler content.
  • Experience building or managing content operations at scale with high editorial standards.
  • Vendor management judgment: Experience managing agencies and holding them accountable for outcomes, with the ability to determine when to bring work in-house.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: Ability to make consequential decisions with incomplete data and a preference for building functions from scratch.
  • Experimentation mindset: A proactive approach to running experiments, quickly iterating, and scaling successful initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience navigating major Google algorithm updates and the ability to detail diagnostic, adaptation, and recovery strategies.
  • Understanding of how retrieval-augmented generation systems select and rank sources, with the ability to translate this into actionable content and structural strategies.
  • Proficiency in using AI and automation tools in personal workflows; being a practitioner, not just a strategist.
  • Experience in a regulated or compliance-sensitive industry.

Responsibilities

  • Grow qualified organic traffic and improve conversion from organic visitors to activated users and pipeline.
  • Increase Brex’s share of voice in AI-generated answers for corporate cards, expense management, and business banking.
  • Establish tracking mechanisms to measure success in organic growth and discoverability.
  • Recover and surpass keyword positions lost to competitors due to recent algorithm shifts.
  • Develop a content production engine capable of producing high-ranking content without requiring senior review for every piece.
  • Optimize the vendor stack, ensuring accountability and determining which functions should be brought in-house.
  • Hire and develop a team, setting the editorial, technical, and AI-native standards for their work.
  • Set the organic growth strategy and own the roadmap, OKRs, and budget.
  • Develop Brex’s AEO/GEO playbook, defining how Brex appears in AI search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI Overviews, including citation strategy, content structuring for model retrieval, and tracking.
  • Co-own the technical SEO roadmap with web engineering, focusing on site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema, crawlability, and page performance.
  • Translate SEO needs into actionable specifications for engineers.
  • Manage content strategy and production for organic channels, setting editorial standards, owning the calendar, and building a scalable production process.
  • Unify Brex's presence across platforms like Reddit, G2, and YouTube into a cohesive discoverability strategy.
  • Educate sales and partnerships teams on the evolving landscape of organic and AI search and its implications for competitive deals.
  • Act as a culture carrier for the Growth Marketing team, embodying an AI-native, high-ownership work ethic.
