Requirements

  • 8+ years in SEO, organic growth, or digital marketing, with at least 3 years leading a team and owning strategy and budget at a B2B SaaS, fintech, or technology company.
  • Connect organic channels to pipeline, revenue, and business outcomes, not just traffic and rankings. Think in SQLs, activation rates, and CAC efficiency.
  • Read crawl logs, diagnose Core Web Vitals issues, direct schema implementations, and partner credibly with engineers on site architecture decisions.
  • Actively experimented with citation strategies, structured content for model consumption, or measured share of voice in answer engines. This cannot be trained on the job.
  • Tell the difference between content that earns trust and content that fills a page. Experience building or managing content operations at scale with high editorial standards.
  • Managed agencies and know how to hold them to outcomes, not just deliverables. Also know when to stop outsourcing and bring work in-house.
  • Make consequential decisions with incomplete data. Like building a function from scratch more than running one that’s already humming.
  • Treat failure as a feedback loop. Run experiments, kill what doesn’t work quickly, and double down on what does.

Nice To Haves

  • Navigated a major Google algorithm update that materially impacted your business and can walk through how you diagnosed, adapted, and recovered.
  • Understand how retrieval-augmented generation systems select and rank sources, and can translate that into actionable content and structural strategy.
  • Use AI and automation tools in your own workflows. Be a practitioner, not just a strategist.
  • Experience in a regulated or compliance-sensitive industry.

Responsibilities

  • Own everything between paid acquisition and brand that drives a buyer from first discovery to qualified lead.
  • Set the strategy, build the team, decide how we work with agencies, and carry the number.
  • Grow qualified organic traffic and improve conversion from organic visitors to activated users and pipeline.
  • Move Brex’s share of voice in AI-generated answers for corporate cards, expense management, and business banking. Stand up the tracking to know if you’re winning.
  • Recover and surpass keyword positions lost to competitors in recent algorithm shifts.
  • Stand up a content production engine that ships work that ranks, without every piece needing a senior review.
  • Cut the vendor stack down. Make what’s left accountable and tell us what should move in-house.
  • Hire and develop the team. You'll inherit some of it, grow it from there, and set the editorial, technical, and AI-native bar for the work.
  • Set the organic growth strategy and own the roadmap, OKRs, and budget. You’re accountable for how Brex shows up organically.
  • Build Brex’s AEO/GEO playbook. Own how Brex shows up in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI Overviews: citation strategy, content structured for model retrieval, and the tracking to tell us what’s moving.
  • Co-own the technical SEO roadmap with web engineering: site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema, crawl, page performance. Translate SEO needs into specs engineers can ship.
  • Run content strategy and production for organic. Set the editorial bar, own the calendar, and build a production process that doesn’t bottleneck on you.
  • Unify our presence across Reddit, G2, YouTube, and other community and review surfaces into one discoverability strategy instead of a collection of side projects.
  • Get sales and partnerships up to speed on how organic and AI search are changing, and what that means when they’re in a competitive deal.
  • Be a culture carrier for the Growth Marketing team. Model the AI-native, high-ownership way of working we're building toward.
