About The Position

Brex is seeking a Director, Organic Growth & Discoverability to own everything between paid acquisition and brand that drives a buyer from first discovery to qualified lead. This role involves setting strategy, building a team, managing agency relationships, and achieving specific growth targets. The position reports to the Head of Growth Marketing and is based in the San Francisco office, operating in a hybrid environment with a minimum of two coordinated days in the office per week, increasing to three days per week starting February 2, 2026. The role also offers up to four weeks per year of fully remote work.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in SEO, organic growth, or digital marketing.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading a team and owning strategy and budget at a B2B SaaS, fintech, or technology company.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect organic channels to pipeline, revenue, and business outcomes, with a focus on SQLs, activation rates, and CAC efficiency.
  • Technical SEO depth, including the ability to read crawl logs, diagnose Core Web Vitals issues, direct schema implementations, and collaborate with engineers on site architecture.
  • Fluency in AI visibility, with active experimentation in citation strategies, structured content for model consumption, or measurement of share of voice in answer engines.
  • Strong content instincts and experience building or managing content operations at scale with high editorial standards.
  • Proven vendor management judgment, including holding agencies accountable for outcomes and knowing when to bring work in-house.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and making consequential decisions with incomplete data.
  • An experimentation mindset, treating failure as a feedback loop and quickly iterating on successful strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience navigating major Google algorithm updates and recovering business impact.
  • Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation systems and their impact on content and structural strategy.
  • Proficiency in using AI and automation tools in personal workflows.
  • Experience in a regulated or compliance-sensitive industry.

Responsibilities

  • Grow qualified organic traffic and improve conversion from organic visitors to activated users and pipeline.
  • Increase Brex’s share of voice in AI-generated answers for corporate cards, expense management, and business banking.
  • Establish tracking mechanisms to measure success in organic growth and discoverability.
  • Recover and surpass keyword positions lost to competitors due to recent algorithm shifts.
  • Develop a content production engine capable of producing high-ranking content without requiring senior review for every piece.
  • Optimize the vendor stack, making remaining vendors accountable and identifying opportunities to bring work in-house.
  • Hire and develop a team, setting high standards for editorial, technical, and AI-native work.
  • Set the organic growth strategy and own the roadmap, OKRs, and budget.
  • Develop Brex’s AEO/GEO playbook, focusing on how Brex appears in AI search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude, including citation strategy, content structuring for model retrieval, and tracking.
  • Co-own the technical SEO roadmap with web engineering, covering site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema, crawl, and page performance.
  • Translate SEO needs into specifications for engineers.
  • Manage content strategy and production for organic channels, setting editorial standards, owning the calendar, and building an efficient production process.
  • Unify Brex's presence across platforms like Reddit, G2, and YouTube into a cohesive discoverability strategy.
  • Educate sales and partnerships teams on the evolving landscape of organic and AI search and its implications in competitive deals.
  • Act as a culture carrier for the Growth Marketing team, embodying an AI-native, high-ownership work ethic.
