Director, Operational Excellence

Branded BillsTempe, AZ

About The Position

Branded Bills is a premium headwear and accessories brand built on quality craftsmanship, custom design, and an exceptional customer experience. From the moment an order is placed to the moment it lands at a customer’s door, every step matters, and the Operations Director is the person who makes sure those steps happen flawlessly. You are the bridge between vision and finished product, applying your expertise to navigate the complexities of execution, troubleshoot real-world challenges, and deliver every project with the quality our brand is known for. You own the operational systems and workflows that allow Branded Bills to scale by managing timelines, vendor compliance, inventory processes, and cross-functional coordination. You bring structure to complexity, run disciplined projects end-to-end, and help us solve problems before they become bottlenecks. If you’re a finisher who takes pride in flawless execution, thrives on getting things done, and knows how to turn a plan into reality through structured project management, this role was made for you.

Requirements

  • A ‘finisher’ mindset with a strong drive to complete projects successfully.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects and turn goals into measurable results.
  • Demonstrated project management experience: building plans, managing timelines, tracking milestones, and communicating status to leadership.
  • Strong process design skills: ability to map workflows, document SOPs, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience supporting change management and adoption of new tools, systems, or processes.
  • Strong operational precision for handling administrative and compliance-related responsibilities.
  • Adaptable leadership style suited for fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Advanced Excel and Word skills required.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • BA degree or equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • NetSuite experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with HCM, ERP, or project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday, ClickUp) is a plus.
  • PMP, CAPM, Lean, or Six Sigma certification is a plus (not required).

Responsibilities

  • Own the finish line by leading execution once a strategy is set, managing timelines, resources, and workflows for seamless delivery.
  • Run initiatives with clear scope, milestones, owners, and deadlines. Build project plans, track status, manage risks and dependencies, and keep stakeholders informed from kickoff to close-out.
  • Build and standardize workflows, SOPs, and playbooks that replace ad-hoc processes. Map current-state processes, identify friction points, and design streamlined, repeatable solutions.
  • Apply sharp analytical thinking to identify hurdles and develop creative solutions that keep production and inventory processes running smoothly.
  • Partner across Operations, Production, Sales, Finance, and People teams to align timelines, clarify handoffs, and ensure unified execution on shared initiatives.
  • Support the rollout and adoption of operational tools (e.g., NetSuite, HCM, SPS), helping teams understand new processes through clear communication, training, and user-friendly documentation.
  • Manage vendor compliance, essential documentation, and operational records that support business scalability and structure.
  • Act as a central coordinator, fostering communication and supporting a high-energy, high-performance work environment.
  • Provide guidance to the Operations Data Specialist, ensuring their work aligns with broader operational and inventory goals.
