About The Position

The Director of Youth & Young Adult Programs provides leadership and oversight for the Community Connections YouThrive program (CCYT), which serves current and former foster youth ages 17–26 as they transition from foster care to independent adulthood. The Director oversees CCYT Program Managers across Missouri and Kansas and is responsible for program operations, staff development, quality assurance, program outcomes, and strategic planning, while ensuring high-quality services for the young adults served. CCYT uses a peer-to-peer model, where lived experience helps build trust, credibility, and meaningful connections with young adults.

This leadership role guides teams and strengthens programs to make a lasting difference in young people’s lives. Travel is required, with or without accommodation. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with at-risk teen populations.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related human services field.
• Three or more years of experience working in nonprofit social service agencies.
• Management experience.
• Resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing ways to create efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems.
• Strong leadership ability and interpersonal skills.
• Team management ability, including the ability to train and develop staff.
• Ability to travel, with or without accommodation.
