About The Position

The Director of Training will support the State Director in the training of Local Directors/Coordinators, assist local chapters with volunteer training needs, oversee Christian Youth in Action , and create any needed training materials. Child Evangelism Fellowship ® (CEF) is a church-assist organization focused on evangelizing and teaching children ages 4-14. CEF Virginia trains ministry teams of volunteers to conduct evangelistic events. We serve churches and individuals by equipping them to fulfill the great commission as an ambassador for Christ – reconciling the lost with the message of the gospel. Our Focus Is On Children And Church Ministries Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) of Virginia is a church-assist organization focused on evangelizing and teaching children ages 4-14. Simply stated, CEF Virginia trains ministry teams who volunteer to conduct evangelistic events usually outside the church walls. Child Evangelism Fellowship of Virginia serves churches and individuals by equipping them to fulfill the great commission. We help them to be an ambassador for Christ, equipping them to reconcile the lost with the message of the gospel. CEF Virginia serves all of the state chapters throughout Virginia. We have several different ministries for children such as the Good News Club , 5-Day Club and CYIA . We host several events through these ministries thereby serving the churches with proven children’s ministry training, materials and methods. This in turn allows us to lead the chapter communities in evangelizing children

Requirements

  • Have a demonstrated a solid walk with Christ for a minimum of five years
  • Trustworthy and honorable in conversation and confidentiality, inside/outside the office
  • Good inter-personal skills, organizational skills and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to multi-task
  • Be experienced in youth ministry and mentorship with teens
  • Proficient keyboarding, clerical and computer skills- is familiar with email, internet, Dropbox and Microsoft Office software; Excel, Power Point, Publisher & Word
  • Preferred experience working with volunteers

Nice To Haves

  • Computer graphic skills are helpful but not required
  • Preferred experience working with volunteers

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Christian Youth in Action (CYIA) program and planning committee
  • Determine the reporting structure for staff and delegate according to roles
  • Work with the designated administrator to prepare and timely distribute information to staff and students
  • Set up a budget to outline the cost of Training School.
  • Determine, in consultation with the TCE-1 Teacher Trainer, Training School’s schedule; e.g. tracks, activities to include, etc.
  • Set and enforce key deadlines for registrations, Training School fees to be collected, schedules to be finalized, etc.
  • Track and account for all receipts and expenses
  • Work with the CYIA Council, and employ social media and other means to promote CYIA
  • Develop a Plan of Action, and execute it, on how to accomplish the training and development for local chapters
  • Develop a Plan of Action, and execute it, to provide training support to regions without chapters
  • Coordinate IOT Courses and ensure that IOT’s maintain their credentials
  • Assist local coordinators and their staff to fulfill training requirements
  • Assist State Director with board and committee training
  • Implement the pattern for the best GNC training and establish it in the new areas
  • Encourage that pattern of training to be implemented in existing areas
  • Visit existing area trainings to gain more insight and possible techniques and share with all chapters
  • Provide Teaching Children Effectively-1 (TCE-1) courses twice a year, once being at CYIA, if feasible
  • Oversee and assist with Super Seminars and Quick Start training, particularly with developing chapters
  • Take necessary training and/or meet requirements to provide higher level of trainings for the state
  • Raise needed financial support
  • Ensure compliance of CEF policies and procedures
  • Willing to travel throughout the state
