About The Position

The Director of Training and Program Enablement is responsible for the design, content, and delivery of training for Galileo’s camp program, including Camp Directors and all camp teams. This role focuses on execution and effectiveness. You will translate operational priorities into clear, usable training and resources that enable teams to run high-quality, safe, and consistent camp experiences. You will own training content and delivery end-to-end, while partnering cross-functionally to ensure alignment with broader program priorities. You will collaborate closely with the Education Product team as they develop learning architecture and large-scale learning systems, coordinate with cross-functional subject matter experts to ensure their expertise is represented throughout our trainings and resources, and continuously iterate and improve training design and delivery in order to best serve our Field teams, camp leadership, and camp staff. This role reports to the VP of National Field Operations and partners closely with Field Operations, Educational Product, and the People Team. This role directly impacts the quality and consistency of the camp experience and how we bring our mission to life. We achieve that mission when camp teams are equipped to create experiences that build innovation skills, foster a growth mindset, and inspire creative confidence in every camper. Strong training ensures: Camp teams are confident and prepared going into the summer, Operational expectations are clear and consistently executed, Our approach to innovation and learning shows up in every camp experience. Within the first year to 18 months, this role also plays a key part in helping Galileo move toward more cohesive and scalable training systems. You will be part of a project team led by the Education Product function with a mandate to re-imagine and up-level our learning architecture and content design principles, and then apply this new thinking to a broad array of field-focused training material in pursuit of simplicity, consistency, utility, and ultimately effectiveness in driving outcomes for staff and campers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing and delivering high-impact training programs for geographically dispersed teams, preferably in education, camps, or youth programs
  • Experience designing and delivering training for large, distributed teams
  • Strong ability to translate complexity into clear, actionable guidance
  • Experience building or improving training programs tied to real-world execution
  • Demonstrated strength in content design, information clarity, or instructional design
  • Experience working with LMS platforms or blended learning environments
  • Ability to identify what matters most and prioritize effectively
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and influence skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments

Responsibilities

  • Owning Training Strategy & Execution: Collaborate with the Educational Product team on training frameworks and larger improvements, Own the end-to-end training experience for Camp Galileo staff, Translate operational priorities into clear, structured training content, Design and deliver training across formats (live sessions, LMS, tools, and resources), Ensure training aligns with real-world execution and field expectations
  • Content Effectiveness & Quality: Own the clarity, consistency, and usability of training materials, Simplify complex or fragmented information into actionable guidance, Thoughtfully design content to reduce duplication and confusion, Ensure updates are efficient and do not require full rebuilds each year
  • Managing the Learning Arc: Own the specific structure and sequencing of the learning arc for each camp role, Determine the appropriate modality for content (live training vs. self-paced vs. resource), Ensure a cohesive experience across LMS, live sessions, and tools, Streamline training experiences to reduce overload and increase effectiveness, Partner with the People Team on LMS coordination to ensure all training is assigned and completed as designed.
  • Driving Training Effectiveness: Track training completion, comprehension, and readiness signals, Identify gaps between training and execution and continuously improve, Use survey data, field feedback, and observation to identify opportunities for improvement, Conduct field validation to understand real-world performance
  • Supporting Field Readiness: Work closely with Field Operations and cross-departmental leaders to align on priorities, Ensure camp teams are fully prepared ahead of Day 1, Develop tools, guides, and communications that support execution, Partner with Field leaders to ensure readiness at scale
