About The Position

Our Village of Erin Meadows, located in 2930 Erin Centre Blvd., Mississauga, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Permanent FULLTIME Kinesiologist, DIRECTOR of the Program for Active Living to join their village team. As a new Director of the PAL Program, you will support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of care to our residents. You will work as key members of our Village, Leadership Team and neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents’ needs, and advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their physical care. Requirements

  • Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation
  • Member in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Long-Term Care setting
  • Current Heart Save Level of CPR

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for the development, and evaluation of comprehensive operational policies and programs for the Village PAL program
  • Provide leadership, support and evaluate PAL programs and projects including restorative, restraints, falls, care conferences, and research to practice initiatives
  • Coordinates with external stakeholders including the LHIN regarding OT/PT services, vendor relations for application resident equipment, external service providers for additional therapy/exercise programs
  • Participates in Village interdisciplinary team meetings or committees as appropriate, while communicating and working in collaboration with other interdisciplinary team members
  • Provide leadership to the PAL Coordinator(s) and supports PAL Students, Volunteers and contracted therapy services who assist with the PAL program
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role
