About The Position

The College of Arts and Science invites applications for the position of Program Director for the Physician Associate Studies Program. Reporting to the Dean of the College of Arts and Science, the Program Director provides vision, leadership, and administrative oversight for the Physician Associate Studies program, ensuring it meets all university requirements and the standards set by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). Responsibilities include general operations, budgeting, staffing, scheduling, curriculum, faculty and staff supervision, and student support. The director oversees the accreditation process with university support and provides limited teaching. The starting date is negotiable but must be no later than November, 2026. The individual will hold the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor, Associate Clinical Professor, or Clinical Professor. This is a 12-month faculty position. The Physician Associate Studies Program at Miami University is a 27-month, master-level curriculum. It is accredited by the ARC-PA and has provisional accreditation status at this time, with a site visit scheduled for early 2027. The inaugural cohort of students began in May 2023, and the ongoing cohort size is 36 students. The program enjoys a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility which opened in 2023. It includes lecture spaces, a standardized examination space, a simulation center, a physical skills lab, a cadaver lab, and Anatomage tables.

Requirements

  • NCCPA-certified Physician Assistant
  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Licensure in Ohio or eligibility to obtain Ohio licensure
  • At least three years of full-time higher education experience in an accredited PA program
  • Experience in program coordination/management
