About The Position

We are seeking a highly tactical and leadership-driven Director of Technology to manage our day-to-day engineering operations, technical execution, and team development. While our executive team sets the overarching vision, you will be the operational bridge—translating that technical strategy into reliable software delivery, clean code architecture, and high-performing engineering squads. You will manage our engineering managers, tech leads, and developers, establishing the processes and engineering standards required to build a highly predictable delivery engine as we scale.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in engineering management roles (Engineering Manager, Director, or Head of Engineering) leading multi-disciplinary squads.
  • Proven success scaling internal engineering processes and managing the predictable delivery of cloud-native platforms.
  • Strong foundational background as a former Senior Engineer, with the ability to deeply understand codebases, conduct technical code reviews, and guide architectural discussions.
  • Deep expertise in modern software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, modern DevOps practices, and issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Linear).
  • Exceptional communication skills with a proven success managing teams that build high-throughput, low-latency APIs or large-scale data ingestion pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Own the delivery lifecycle of our engineering organization, ensuring sprints are well-scoped, shipped on time, and meet strict quality standards.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow engineering managers and senior technical individual contributors, conducting performance reviews and mapping out career paths.
  • Standardize and optimize our agile/scrum methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, code review workflows, and testing protocols to maximize developer velocity and minimize technical debt.
  • Collaborate with architects to oversee day-to-day system architecture decisions, ensuring the platform remains modular, maintainable, and stable.
  • Partner directly with Product Managers and Designers to balance engineering capacity with product roadmap commitments and feature requirements.
  • Manage day-to-day engineering resource allocation, identifying bottlenecks in the team's capacity and optimizing hiring pipelines to fill skill gaps.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages
  • Corporate retirement savings plan options with a traditional 401(k)
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) allotment and observed holiday schedule
  • Daily catered lunches
  • Fully stocked premium coffee and tea bar
  • Unlimited snacks
  • Free garage parking
  • Routine professional development opportunities
