About The Position

The Director of Surveillance is responsible for managing the department to ensure an effective and economic operation. This role involves communicating with various agencies including the Indiana Gaming Commission, state, local, and federal law enforcement, as well as internal departments like Security, management, and Human Resources. The Director ensures gaming integrity and the protection of company assets. Key duties include developing and enforcing departmental policies and procedures, monitoring surveillance activities for compliance, and reporting irregularities. The position also involves managing staff, including hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and performance evaluation. The Director reviews shift reports for accuracy, informs the CFO of shift and staff activities, and performs special monitoring and investigations as directed. Additionally, the role includes coordinating equipment purchase, installation, and maintenance, and providing excellent customer service. A critical responsibility is immediately informing the on-site IGC Agent, Security, and Supervisor on Duty of any Internal Control or State Regulation violations related to gaming activity, in accordance with the company's Self-Reporting Policy.

Requirements

  • Experience in surveillance operations.
  • Knowledge of Indiana Gaming Commission regulations and state/federal law enforcement procedures.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and reporting surveillance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the department to achieve an effective and economic operation.
  • Communicate with Indiana Gaming Commission, state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies, Security, management, and Human Resources.
  • Assure gaming integrity and the protection of assets.
  • Develop, enforce, and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Monitor surveillance activities to assure compliance with policy and procedures and to report all irregularities to appropriate management or agency.
  • Manage duties, coach and counsel, and evaluate performance of staff.
  • Review shift reports for accuracy and precision.
  • Appraise CFO of shift activities and staff member activities.
  • Recruit, hire, and ensure staff is properly trained.
  • Write and submit surveillance activity reports to the Indiana Gaming Commission and senior management.
  • Perform special monitoring and investigations as directed.
  • Coordinate the purchase, installation, and maintenance of related equipment.
  • Provide service to internal and external customers which reflects the company culture of Satisfaction, Togetherness, Appreciation and Recognition. (S.T.A.R.)
  • Responsible for immediately informing on-site IGC Agent on duty, Security and Supervisor on Duty of any Internal Control or State Regulation violations related to gaming activity of which you commit, witness or become aware; must report pursuant to company Self-Reporting Policy.
  • Perform other surveillance duties as assigned.
  • Attend, and assist as needed, training provided within and outside the department.
