About The Position

An established Level II Trauma Center in the Denver metro area is seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead a high-volume perioperative operation. This leadership role oversees the Main Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department, driving clinical excellence, operational performance, patient safety, physician engagement, and team development. The department supports more than 1,000 surgical cases per month and includes advanced robotic surgery capabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven perioperative leader looking to make a significant impact within a complex surgical environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Surgical Services leadership experience at the Director level or equivalent high-level management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of Surgical Services clinical experience
  • Strong background in perioperative operations, quality improvement, budgeting, and staff leadership

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience leading multi-department perioperative operations
  • Trauma center experience
  • Robotic surgery program experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for Surgical Services and Sterile Processing.
  • Drive patient safety, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and accreditation readiness.
  • Lead staffing, workforce planning, productivity management, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor departmental budgets, capital planning, and expense management.
  • Partner with physicians and executive leadership to optimize surgical services and patient throughput.
  • Implement evidence-based practices that improve quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
  • Ensure appropriate clinical competencies, education, and professional development for staff.
  • Monitor operational metrics and implement improvement initiatives to achieve organizational goals.
  • Support service line growth, new program development, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, transparency, and exceptional patient care.
