About The Position

The Director of SUD Services provides oversight of the clinical practices of the organization and quality management activities that will support the improvement of the quality of clinical care and agency performance. This role offers guidance in the area of counseling and clinical practices, as well as developing clinical protocols and policy administration under the advisement of the Chief Clinical Officer for the agency’s program treatment teams.

Requirements

  • Must adhere to the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board’s Chemical Dependency Code of Ethics.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of addiction as an illness.
  • Have five years of treatment or recovery experience.
  • Possess knowledge of addiction behavior and related social, psychological and health issues and related counseling techniques and practices.
  • Possess strong knowledge base concerning the IDDT (Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment) Model.
  • If in recovery, must have at least one year of continuous sobriety.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with Agency employees, outside contacts, and a diverse client population.
  • Master’s Degree required.

  • LICDC, LPCC, LISW or higher credential preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise managers, counselors and other staff.
  • Manage quality and access to care, including productivity and accountability for performance and agency standards.
  • Continuously analyze treatment delivery, management and instructional maintenance of all SUD treatment programs and staff.
  • Ensure compliance in all aspects of accreditation and other regulatory activities.
  • Provide oversight to the program managers in identifying and developing specific training needs of staff on all aspects of the clinical operation of SUD programs, including counseling skills, clinical documentation and clinical thinking, and treatment techniques.
  • Ensure service is delivered efficiently and effectively to fulfill the objectives of the program by providing periodic reviews of the service delivery.
  • Develop and provide oversight of the agency’s utilization management/review protocol that will ensure clinical review and appropriate use of clinical care and the agency treatment resources.
  • Identify areas of improvement and development, with the Chief Clinical Officer, the clinical protocols and policies to deliver high quality and high value care.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field and share the results with the program managers and staff.
  • Provide assistance in submitting accurate information to the clinical and non-clinical management teams pertaining to the agency’s quality improvement activities and performance.
  • Provide supervision and organization for staff pursuing certification/licensure as addiction professionals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
