About The Position

Daily Mail is hiring a Director of Subscription Growth to own US subscriber growth and subscription revenue for Daily Mail+. Reporting to the General Manager, US, and partnering closely with the global subscriptions team in London, this player-coach will lead strategy across paid acquisition, registration, paywall conversion, lifecycle marketing, engagement, and retention. The role combines strategic leadership and team development with direct involvement in evaluating campaigns, shaping experiments, diagnosing performance, and translating insights into action. The Director will own US net subscriber and subscription revenue targets, including forecasting, budgeting, performance reporting, and corrective action. They will develop a US growth strategy aligned with global subscription objectives and allocate investments according to subscriber value, contribution margin, and payback period. The role also manages the subscriber journey end to end and collaborates with central product, paywall, pricing, CRM, and analytics teams to advance US market needs. The Director will lead and develop a small team of subscription-growth specialists, set goals and operating cadences, and build effective relationships and decision processes across New York and London. Initial priorities include taking ownership of the US forecast, budget, channel mix, and reporting cadence; diagnosing the funnel and subscriber cohorts through the second billing cycle; establishing baseline metrics; agreeing on a prioritized growth and experimentation plan; and establishing working cadences with global and central teams.
