Enterprise Services (ES) Strategy & Transformation (S&T) is seeking a seasoned Director and program leader to drive complex, enterprise-wide transformation initiatives in support of the oneRTX strategic agenda, leveraging the scale of our three business units and maximizing the RTX value of ES. This role will lead ES Mission Area transformation activities leveraging Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) methodologies to accelerate ES Service adoption, and ensure alignment with enterprise goals for collaboration, cost structure optimization, productivity, and performance. The Director of Strategic Initiatives role requires working with executive leadership within the RTX corporate organization and the 3 RTX business units to develop and execute plans that create the greatest value for our employees and shareholders. The ideal candidate brings strong strategic acumen, exceptional communication and stakeholder influence skills, deep program management experience, and a proven ability to guide large organizations through transformational change.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, management, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 14 years of experience in consulting, business management or program management, preferably in a supervisory role, or 12 years with advanced degree.
  • Expertise in program management, strategic planning, risk management, financial analysis, operations, supply chain, quality, and customer relationship management.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience operating at a Director level as described by RTX job catalog.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate strategically while managing detailed execution.
  • Strong decision agility, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of RTX business processes, procedures, and financial principles.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategies that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Nice To Haves

  • Transformation, operating model redesign, enterprise strategy execution, or large-scale process modernization.
  • Background in consulting or advisory roles supporting transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with agile-at-scale, modern PMO practices, and enterprise portfolio management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee an ES Mission Area oneRTX transformation portfolio, ensuring adherence to program plans, schedules, budgets, and enterprise strategic objectives.
  • Shape multi‑year roadmaps, operating models, KPIs, and governance mechanisms to achieve financial and operational commitments.
  • Define strategies for milestone development, program planning, and execution to ensure long-term transformation objectives are realized.
  • Lead the execution of transformation activities including customer contact and influence, workplans, proposal development, negotiation, and business case development.
  • Partner with executive & C-suite leaders across RTX Corporate and BU organizations to align executable strategies and plans.
  • Proactively evaluate program activities, build contingency plans, and execute corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure progress.
  • Identify and leverage program interdependencies to improve efficiency realization across the enterprise.
  • Develop and execute change management and communication strategies to enable adoption of ES services and transformation initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships and influence without authority across ES Mission Area leadership, technology, HR, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Legal, Communications, and other partners.
  • Translate complex information into clear, concise updates for executive leadership.
  • Implement rigorous governance structures, dashboards, operating rhythms, and quality mechanisms to ensure predictable and transparent execution.
  • Ensure CORE methodology is leveraged appropriately, and process improvements are consistently identified and adopted.
  • Drive lessons learned across programs and contribute to ES transformation readiness and capability building.
