About The Position

NHC HealthCare Bluffton is hiring a full-time Director of Social Services. The role leads a comprehensive social services program that supports patients and families at the center, promotes teamwork, and ensures the quality of services provided. The Director provides direction to the department in meeting the center’s goals and objectives and understands and follows the health care center’s policies, interpreting them for concerned parties. The position calls for a social work degree and knowledge of medical case management, geriatric patient needs, health care settings, and health care funding resources. Long-term care experience is preferred. The listed pay is $45,000–$70,000 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

Degree in Social Work from a school or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; an MSW is preferred, and BSW applicants are encouraged.
Knowledge of the medical case management process, geriatric patient needs, and health care settings.
Working knowledge of funding resources, including Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D, Medicaid, managed care, and other private insurance.
Ability to work cooperatively with other professionals and organize and carry out responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately, verbally and in writing, in a wide variety of circumstances.

Nice To Haves

Long-term care experience preferred.
