About The Position

The Director of Security & Parking position plans, directs and coordinates activities relating to the protection, safeguarding and security of company assets, employees, invitees and others; ensures that established goals and objectives are accomplished with prescribed priorities, time limitations and with fiscal responsibilities; advises, makes recommendations, assists in the formulation of goals and objectives; designs, implements and monitors security policies, procedures and programs; complies with federal, state and local legal regulations; and exercises independent judgment in the course of carrying out overall responsibilities and other activities as assigned. This position is required to work nights, holidays and weekend.

Requirements

• Prefer Bachelor’s degree in business administration, criminal justice, law enforcement, security or a closely related field, or equivalent number of years of experience.
• Ten years full-time experience performing supervisory responsibilities or highly responsible work relating to tasks assigned to this position, or any combination of education and experience provided the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
• Must be knowledgeable with computers.
• Ability to identify and respond to sensitive issues, concerns and needs.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and drive projects to completion.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.
• Must be able to work varied shifts, days, and holidays.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to use hands to use tools, controls, reach with hands and arms and talk and hear.
• Must be able to but not limited to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to occasionally lift and or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate on the two way radios, phones and able to be understood.
• Ability to perform the duties of this job in outside weather conditions including but not limited to cold weather and very hot weather.
• Ability to work in an environment that varies noise levels from low to loud depending on the event or concert.

Responsibilities

• Plans, examines, analyzes, evaluates and supervises security operations, inclusive of physical security assets and security personnel.
• Prepares reports and records for management team.
• Evaluates current procedures and practices and keeps all policies and practices up to date to meet City Ordinances relative to security.
• Identifies and resolves security and parking related problems.
• Develops training and implements alternative methods for security and parking operation improvements.
• Leads new Law Enforcement Substation - ~9000 square foot facility housing LV City Marshals, Metropolitan Police and FSE Security & Surveillance.
• Implements best practices for surveillance and chooses leading technologies for public safety such as Shotpoint, OpenPath, Milestone, etc.
• Coordinates activities within security and parking areas.
• Prepares budget estimate and reports.
• Works closely with Risk Management department.
• Orders supplies and equipment as needed.
• Reviews financial reports to ensure security operation efficiency and quality control.
• Develops preventative security programs, including the supervision of security and parking personnel.
• Performs audits of security related performance and conducts physical surveys of premise security, including security equipment condition.
• Conducts, supervises and prepares reports relating to internal investigations of any losses or violations of Fremont Street Experience regulations, policies and procedures; develops, implements and manages security training.
• Leads in preparation of emergency management and contingency planning.
• Attends meetings and serves as Fremont Street Experience’s liaison with public law enforcement, fire and other agencies as it relates to security at Fremont Street Experience personnel and guests.
• Performs, arranges and supervises executive protection.
• Leads security operations, maps and plans for concerts and special events.
• Initiates personnel actions such as recruitment, selections, transfers, promotions and discipline or dismissal measures.
• Prepares/assist security and parking managers/supervisors with work schedules; assigns or delegates responsibilities.
• Provides work directives for subordinates.
• Sets deadlines to ensure completion of operational security functions.
• Interprets and disseminates Fremont Street Experience policy to subordinate personnel; and evaluates employee performance.
• Understands Street Performer Ordinances (LVMC 11.68) and enforces code.
• This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend and evening work.
